Christmas Wishes & An interesting ride

This may be my last blog of the year, but I'm not sure yet.
Let's 1st start with the interesting ride home from Winnipeg that we had on Monday afternoon.
We were on our way home from shopping, when we heard a Bang! then the car pulled funny. Marty steered it & into the ditch we went. We didn't roll & didn't get hurt, which was a good thing. We got out of the car to look around. What had happened was the lower ball joint blew. That was the bang. The smoke that we smelled was the dried dead grass under the car, warming up to the hot muffler. Marty got out the shovel & started to remove the snow from around the car. He got it removed, but we still couldn't go anywhere. You can't go far when your wheel doesn't turn right & there's snow in the bottom of the ditch. He made a call & while we were waiting for somebody to pick us up, some good samaratin with a 4x4 & a towing truck's chain, pulled us out of the ditch. Yayyyy!!!!! Our ride came & we took our stuff that we went shopping for out of the car & went home. Marty went back, with help, with his truck & dolly & got the car home. It's now sitting on the dolly, in the back yard. It won't be getting fixed until after the holidays.
Later in the evening, Marty came up with a little song of our adventure. It's in the tune of "Jingle Bells"

Sliding in the ditch (sung to “Jingle Bells”)

Sliding into the ditch
It was a very bumpy ride
After blowing a ball joint
And almost ending on our side
I almost went insane
A guy showed up with a chain
He pulled us out, he had no doubt
And we’re on the road again....sort of
Chorus:
Bang, scrape, skid
Bang, scrape, skid
In the ditch we go
Oh I’m glad this ditch is full
Of fluffy, fluffy snow...I wish

Marty & I (Chance too) would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. All the best to everybody in 2009.

  3. Glad Marty could keep his sense of humor about the whole ordeal! You could have named that tune "Jingle Balls!" :) And here's to good samaritans. Have a very Merry Christmas. TG
