We planted over 200 Iris’ a few weeks ago.  A few of them had buds on & this is what they looked like.

The lilacs are in bloom.  There aren’t a lot of flowers this year.  This one, stood out from all of the rest.  It normally is purple, with with around the edges.  It’s the only flower on the tree that looks the way it does.

You just gotta love the sunsets.

Now, for a couple of videos.

Here’s Chance, just standing around in her kennel, listening to the birds.

On May 24th, Victoria Day evening, we had a thunderstorm.  This was taken at about 11pm.  The storm was just getting started.  I went outside to take some video.  This is one of 4 different videos that I took.

That’s all for now.  All is well here.  Enjoy the videos, pictures, as well as the nice weather.

A much required update

Wow, it’s been quite awhile since my last blog post.  Things have been crazy & busy here at the same time.  And, this crazy, busy has not always been good either.  Now….where to start.

It all started in February.  I found out that I had to find a new place for my parents & 2 uncles to live.  Who on earth moves in the middle of winter?!  That wasn’t even the half of all of our stress.  Marty, also had to go in for a biopsy/ day surgery thing.  Let’s add stress upon stress.  That went well.  It was a long day, but all is good.  There was nothing serious.  Thank goodness!

By mid February, found my uncle becoming ill.  He went into the hospital for about a week & was then released.  He was home for about 2 days, then the ambulance had to be called in.  Still something was not right.  He had another infection!  Not good at all.  It was found, through tests, that he had a single gall stone, that was stuck.  They transferred him to Winnipeg to do this procedure to “blast” it.  That went well.  He started getting better.  The doctors moved him up into rehab unit, to evaluate him.  They needed to see if he was strong enough to ever go back home or if a nursing home would be the next step.

He was doing quite well….for awhile.  We then found him getting ill again.  Another infection!!!  This was just not good at all.  By then, we were into March & I still hadn’t found a place for my parents & uncles to move to.  They moved him back to the ward, in the hospital.  He was not doing well at all.  He was very ill & weak.

Sad to say, he did not make it.  From the time that they moved him from rehab back to the ward, to the day that he passed,  was only a few days.  So, now amongst all of this stress, more stress was added.  It was very hard on my dad.  This was his identical twin brother.

On a good note, I did find them a new place to move to.  They moved exactly 1 week after my uncles funeral.  They like where they are living now & it’s perfect for them.  There are no stairs to climb.  Everything is on 1 level.

Now, we’re into end of March-April.  The weather here is really nice.  I’ve never seen it so nice this early in the spring!  All of our snow is gone already & it’s really dry.  That’s not good either.  The wood ticks are starting to emerge & I really dislike those!  My perennials are starting to come up already.  The robins are back & singing happily during the very early mornings.

I took a few pictures a few weeks ago of a beautiful spring sunset.  Here they are.

And now, an update on Chance & a few pictures of her.

Chance isn’t doing too badly.  She is, however, having a tough time with her nails again.  They’ve started to separate…again.  They’ve been like this for a couple of weeks now.  She’s been trying to remove the offending nails, but they’re just not ready to come off yet.  So far, there haven’t been any infections.  That’s good.  She has had a few tummy issues, but nothing serious.  I’m thinking that it’s all related to her sore feet.  She’s still playing with her toys & eating her food.  That’s a good sign that she doesn’t have any infection.  You all will be informed, if she does develop one.  We know it will happen, we just don’t know when it’ll happen.  Now, here are a few pictures that were taken of her.

Here she is lying on her couch, burying her nose in her blanket.

Just closer up.  You can see just how comfy she is.

That’s all there is for now.  Hopefully, it won’t take me so long to do another blog.  Let’s hope that all that stress is finally gone now.

Have a good week.

Merry Christmas!

!cid_B31F36371597497CBAB17758473D9419@AnnettePC

Twas the Night before Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

New Blog

Apparently, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted a new blog.  There’s not much been happening.  The weather has been quite nice during the month of November.  Lots of sunshine & warm temps.  There’s even been no snow.  We’ve only started to get cooler, more normal like weather & a little bit of snow.

As always, here are some new pictures.
